Terms of Use

These terms cover the Dangar Marine website (this website) and the Dangar Marine Forum. Both are run by Stuart Allen, trading as Dangar Marine, in Sydney, Australia. Last updated 4 November 2026.

Using the guide

The guide is free to use. Its information is general advice for boat owners who do their own maintenance and repairs, given in good faith but without any guarantee that it is complete, correct or suitable for your boat or engine. Working on boats, engines, fuel and electrical systems can be dangerous: follow the manufacturer's manual, use the right safety equipment, and have a qualified marine mechanic or electrician do any work you aren't confident doing yourself. To the extent the law allows, Dangar Marine isn't liable for any loss, damage or injury from using the guide.

The guide's text, pictures and diagrams are © Dangar Marine unless otherwise stated, and may not be republished without permission. Reference articles and diagrams from other sources remain their owners' property.

The forum

Anyone can read the forum; to post, you need to be at least 16 and to sign in with a Google account. By posting you agree to follow the forum's community guidelines: be kind, keep to boats, and don't advertise or post spam.

You keep the rights to what you post, and only post what you have the right to share. You let Dangar Marine show your posts on the forum and keep them there, and quote them, with your username, in the guide and the channel's videos. Moderators may edit, move or remove posts, and suspend accounts, that break these terms or the guidelines.

Advice on the forum comes from its members, not from Dangar Marine, and the safety advice above applies to it just as it does to the guide: check it against the manufacturer's manual, and ask a qualified mechanic if you're unsure.

YouTube videos

Videos on this site are embedded from the Dangar Marine YouTube channel. By watching them you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies.

The guide links to other websites, including sponsors and shops such as MarineEngine.com, Raymarine, Fourthwall, PayPal and Amazon.
